What Is The Low HI Diet?

Technically this is not a diet, rather a lifestyle. It is based on my book of the same title which is sold globally. My publisher (New Holland) thought having the word ‘Diet’ in the title would help sell more copies. Maybe it did, who knows? But I can, hand-on-my-heart, tell you this is NOT a diet.

Low HI means eating foods that have had little or no Human Intervention. It is a way of eating that is designed to nourish you for good health and longevity.

There are three easy steps to this program. And once completed you will not look back.

Laying Down the Foundations

I’m going to arm you with a sound understanding of nutrition. So, from here on in, when you’re introduced to the latest diet you’ll know if it’s legit or BS. You’re going to get tips on cutting back sugar and the best alternatives if you love your sweet foods. I’ll even share great desserts (choc brownies, cheesecakes, and peanut butter cups) that are actually good for you. You’ll appreciate why you need fats and which ones can help you burn fat (yep, they exist).

No more over eating, as you’ll know exactly how much food your body needs. You’ll also learn to listen to your body and hear the signals it gives you when you’ve eaten something that doesn’t make you hum. Basically, this step gives you the tools you need to fine tune your body.

The Low HI Way

In this step you’ll learn to eliminate or substantially reduce the foods in your diet that have had a lot of Human Intervention. That is, get rid of food that comes in a box, is full or preservatives or has words on the label that don’t readily roll off your tongue. Fresh is best, and natural is the new black! Think of the foods your Grandparents ate.

I share the truth about fats, and the lies about calories. We’ll delve into those trip hazards that may have caused you to fail healthy eating in the past. Whether it’s cravings, stress, poor self esteem, lack of eduction or not really knowing how to listen to your body.

We’ll pull back the curtain on all of this so food becomes a wonderful pleasure to enjoy with family and friends and fuel your body. And if you have given food misplaced control over your emotional wellbeing, you’re going to take back that control… once and for all. 

Step 3

Recipe to Ageing Well

In Step 3 you’ll become grateful for all the things your healthy body allows you to do. We appreciate that a healthy body isn’t just about eating well and exercise. It is also about feeding it the stuff we find hard to wrap words around – Happiness, enjoyment, fulfilment and contentment. This is what I call your primary foods! The food that feeds your soul and makes you sing on the inside. Consuming these primary food will get you off that diet merry go-round and stop you from using food to satisfy that something in you that isn’t being fed!
